Coliseum in Rome

HobbyGaia - Paintings - Oil painting. The charm of hobbies, is always doing something new, or at least some variant, but having a very precise objective. This time I used the mold (G4-30), made with silicon resin from Prochima, which has excellent characteristics, so I see no reason to change. But to fill them, not all their products satisfy me one hundred percent. The liquid metal, is of high price, and very heavy; the Marmorina is of a lower price, but being very dense, it is also not very slight, although it has excellent resolution (always take care to stir slowly, and tap lightly under the mold to eliminate any air bubbles); the resins are not exactly to my liking. In order to maintain a slight and economical result, after using berim glue (a little painful because it must be sifted), this time I used a paste of ground coffee (one Euro per 1 / 4kg) with glue, achieving the proposed objectives : slight , unbreakable, resistant, economical, and fast. The dark part of the Colosseum, not painted, is the color of the cafe itself. It was glued on two boards, lined with litter, and all painted with oil, the first being almost obligatory, to cancel out the slight tendency to bend and painted with the same colors and the second to give it a slightly larger dimension. The frame was made of small rulers of wood, a little superimposed as that to form an amphitheater, characteristic of the own Coliseum... To experience absolutely!!!

HobbyGaia - Paintings - Oil painting. The charm of hobbies, this  in always doing something new, or at least with some variation, but with a very precise objective. This time I used the  mold  (G4-30), made with silicone resin from Prochima, which has great characteristics, so I don't see any reason to change it. But to fill them up, not all their products satisfy me one hundred percent. the liquid metal,  It is expensive and very heavy; Marmorina, is of lower price, but being  very dense, it is also not very light, although it has excellent resolution (always be careful to stir slowly, and tap lightly under the mold, to eliminate any bubbles  of air); resins are not exactly to my taste. To maintain a light and economical result, after using sawdust with glue (a little laborious as it must be sieved), this time I used a ground coffee paste (one Euro per 1/4kg) with glue, achieving the proposed objectives: light , unbreakable, resistant, economical, and fast. The dark part of the Coliseum is not painted, it is the color of the cafe itself. It was glued on two boards, covered in burlap, and all painted in oil, the first being almost mandatory, to cancel the slight tendency to bend and painted with the same colors and the second to give it a slightly larger dimension. The frame was made of small wooden boards, slightly overlapping as if to form an amphitheater, characteristic of the  Coliseum... Absolutely to experience!!!
