HobbyGaia - Collections - Paintings / Restoration - All Mercatini  arrive in Rome !!! Well, we are a long way from the times of the famous Roman Empire roads, but in fact, these second-hand shops, many of them with antiquarian airs and prices to match, took Rome by storm !!! , on a cold and rainy weekend at the peak of winter I entered. The way prices are attributed, with a highly specialized team, and consultation continues on the internet, eliminates any possibility of making a good purchase for a few Euros, and when it is not enough, more drastic means are used, see the back part of this picture, completely torn in search of any indication or internal signature, so great attention should be given, at least, to be able to leave with the investment guaranteed !!! The second picture was exceptionally spared, just because it was the same as the first. But ripping the back of all these pictures, almost sacrilegiously, has one advantage: it also allows the prospective buyer to give him a quick internal view, and almost always avoid his purchase !!!

The Mercatini have very own rules to their benefit, but they practice 30% of discount, after 60 days of the date of the label, which is not always an advantage, since any article in this situation, has been more than observed, and is almost invendavel . In this case the initial price was sixteen Euro per frame, but had already dropped to twelve. As of my little purse I did not have against indications, I decided to advance a little to the details: Oil painting of good quality, in very good state of conservation because protected with glass; the torn back side allowed to verify that the used support was of screen on card of good quality, applied in a very professional way, I will say. The frames, beautiful and elegant in their youth, were now decadent, in a bad state, almost without gold and what remained, completely cracked, but being original, they allowed to date the paintings for the 60s approximately, not later. The signature was present, difficult to read as usual, but as I acquired the habit of observing them more for their graphic aspect, often with the difficult task of deciding between bringing and leaving, they showed a great dexterity and at ease with the brush , and also this time ... I brought the pictures with me !!!

mas de facto, estas lojas de vendas em segunda mao, muitas delas com ares de antiquariado e preços a condizer, tomaram Roma de assalto!!!, e foi precisamente  numa dessas lojas , num fim de semana frio e chuvoso, no pico do Inverno, que entrei. O modo como sao atribuidos os preços, com toda uma equipa altamente especializada, e consulta continua na internet, elimina qualquer possibilidade de pretender fazer uma boa compra por poucos Euros, E quando nao basta, usam-se meios mais drasticos, extremos até,  veja-se a parte trazeira deste quadro, completamente rasgada à procura de qualquer indicio ou assinatura interna, com a intençao de lhe aumentar o preço, colocando-lhe qualquer cartelo com o nome do autor, pelo que grande atençao se devera prestar, para pelo menos, se poder sair dali, com o investimento garantido!!! O segundo quadro, excepcionalmente foi poupado, apenas por ser praticamente igual ao primeiro, o que efectivamente veio a confirmar-se.  Mas rasgar a parte de tras de todos esses quadros, quase um sacrilegio, tem uma vantagem: permite tambem ao potencial comprador dar-lhe uma rapida vista interna, e quase sempre evitar a sua compra!!!

Os "Mercatini" tem umas regras muito proprias obviamente em seu beneficio, mas praticam 30% de desconto, passados 60 dias da data da etiqueta, o que nem sempre é uma vantagem, pois qualquer artigo nesta situaçao, ja foi mais que observado, e é praticamente invendavel.

Neste caso o preço inicial era de dezasseis Euro por quadro, mas ja tinha baixado para doze. Como do meu pequeno porta-moedas nao tive contra indicaçoes, resolvi avançar um pouco para os pormenores: Pinturas a oleo de boa qualidade, em excelente estado de conservaçao, porque protegidas com vidro; a parte trazeira rasgada permitiu verificar que o suporte utilizado era de tela sobre cartao, tambem de optima qualidade, aplicada de modo muito profissional, direi. As molduras, belas e elegantes na sua juventude, estavam agora decadentes, em pessimo estado, praticamente sem dourado e o que restava, completamente craquelado, mas sendo originais, permitiam datar as pinturas para os anos 60 aproximadamente, nunca depois. A assinatura era presente, de dificil leitura como habitual, mas como adquiri o habito de as observar mais pelo seu aspecto grafico, muitas vezes com a dificil tarefa de decidir entre o trazer e o deixar, evidenciavam uma grande destreza e à vontade com o pincel, e tambem desta vez..., trouxe as pinturas comigo!!!
