Máquina Soviética, feita em metal e muito pesada, para não ter fim, é denominada" the last tank ".  A sua famosa lente Helios 44-M é tambem muito boa, estas lentes equipam instrumentos de precisão em astronomia e medicina, a máquina é totalmente mecanica, servindo as pilhas apenas para o indicador de luminusidade.  De recordar que o shutter button se pode ainda posicionar para T ou V; no primeiro caso serve para manter o diafragma sempre aberto, quando se selecciona  B e se usa tripé, controlando o tempo de abertura com o relógio: neste caso faz-se o disparo e gira-se para T. A posição V usa-se sempre antes do self timer: neste caso carrega-se no shutter button até meio e gira-se para V, e então já se pode usar o temporizador, e isto é obrigatório de contrário as fotos serão feitas sempre à abertura máxima.. Quando não em uso,deve ficar em posição normal, e sem avançar o film, para as molas não se danificarem. Se dispensa automatismos, e confia na sua habilidade, então esta  com a sua mecânica infalível, não é de lhe passar ao lado. Pesa quase um quilo!!!
