HobbyGaia - Collections - Nikkormat FTn - When Nikon launches the legendary F Series in the late fifties, the world of photography has never been the same again, the Reflex system itself and Nikon itself stood out among the constructors of photographic machines. With such great success due to its superb construction and robustness, it is no wonder that it has accompanied the great events of the world such as NASA's travels. But Nikon F had a great inconvenience: its too high cost did not allow its mass dissemination !!!, and the solution was the construction of another machine, this time not professional, aimed at amateur photographers, with fewer resources and after several attempts, FT enters the market. And here comes a statement, or rather two: If the Nikon engineers wanted to build an economical machine and obviously of inferior quality, they made a gross design error, because Nikkormat FT, too, was built of the highest quality, and if they were intended safeguarding or reserving the name Nikon only for its professionals by giving it a different name, and putting its name only on the back, there was no such need, because it was precisely the professional photographers who quickly adopted it as a second body / machine, of her practically a minor sister of the famous F series !!!, and when years later this brand ceased its production, giving place to the Nikon's FM and FE left behind him a track of legend, I believe until the one day Nikon would honor it with a machine in its memory, placing this time side by side in the front the name Nikon, is almost a must !!!, reason why the Nikkormat FTn is one hundred percent recommended, for whom s and want to venture into the world of 35mm photography. And if any difficulty lies mainly in changing the lenses, check that they use the correct procedure: First - check that the pin of the machine that is going to enter the groove of the lens protrusion is positioned as far right as possible. Second - select the lens aperture in position 5.6f. Third - insert the pin into the groove of the lens. Fourth - turn the lens clockwise until you feel the click. Fifth - close the diaphragm to the minimum possible (maximum). Sixth - open the diaphragm to the maximum possible (minimum). The lens change has been completed, but you should check if it has been successful. Check that in the scale of 1.2 to 5.6 (maximum openings of several lenses) located in the body of the machine, the very small red dot indicates a value precisely equal to the maximum aperture of the lens, which indicates that as expected, the machine received the correct information of the lens used and everything came to a good end; otherwise, you should remove the lens and repeat all this sequence. And if you have any small signs of the years lived and there are so many, do not see everything in negative, remember that many have gone through extreme situations, such as the small features of this machine, which for years has faithfully accompanied an Italian lady on her long trips to Africa , unfeasible places to do any type of maintenance / repair, and therefore chosen intelligently for its highest quality, not caring about the weight that exceeds one kilogram, for the benefit of its resistance, (still acopolando a luminous lens 1: 1/4 f 50mm) and completely mechanical and manual not dependent on batteries !!!. (except for the luminous system)

3 - Because it has depth of field preview

4 - Because it has a double luminous meter: Internal and External

5 - Because it allows the mirror block

6 - Because the shutter is extremely well constructed, metallic, mechanical and super robust, practically indestructible !!!

7 - Because it is totally metallic (+ 1kg), mechanical and manual.

8 - Because there is a change of speeds next to the optics, selectable in the same way as the aperture and focus, all with one hand, and without taking your eyes off the viewfinder !!!

9 - Because it was tested in the Vietnam War

10 - Because it has a very well done drawing. (inspired FM / FE)

11 - Because it is strongly recommended for 35mm photography.

HobbyGaia - Coleçoes - Nikkormat FTn - Quando no fim dos anos cinquenta, Nikon lança no mercado a legendaria Serie F, o mundo da fotografia nunca mais foi o mesmo, o sistema Reflex impos-se e a propria Nikon, destacou-se no meio dos construtores de maquinas fotograficas. Com tao grande sucesso devido à sua construçao soberba e robusta, nao admira que tenha acompanhado de vizinho, os grandes acontecimentos mundiais, como as viagens da NASA. Mas a Nikon F tinha um grande inconveniente : o seu custo demasiado alto nao permitia a sua divulgaçao em massa!!!, e a soluçao passou pela construçao de uma outra maquina, desta vez nao profissional, dirigida a fotografos amadores, de menos recursos e depois de varias tentativas, entra no mercado a FT. E aqui surge uma constataçao, ou melhor duas: Se os engenheiros da Nikon pretendiam construir uma maquina economica e obviamente de menor qualidade, cometeram um grosseiro erro de projetaçao, porque a Nikkormat FT, tambem ela, foi construida de altissima qualidade, e se pretendiam salvaguardar ou reservar o nome Nikon apenas para as suas profissionais atribuindo-lhe um nome diverso, e colocando o seu nome apenas na parte trazeira, nao havia essa necessidade, porque foram precisamente os fotografos profissionais que rapidamente a adoptaram como segundo corpo/maquina, fazendo dela praticamente uma irma menor da famosa serie F!!!, e quando anos mais tarde esta marca cessou a sua produçao, dando lugar as Nikon's FM e FE deixou atras de si um rasto de lenda, creio ate que a Nikon um dia a homenageara  com uma maquina em sua memoria, colocando desta vez lado a lado na parte frontal o nome Nikon, é quase uma obrigaçao!!!, pelo que a Nikkormat FTn é cem por cento recomendada, para quem se quer aventurar no mundo da fotografia de 35mm. E se alguma dificuldade tiver principalmente na mudança de lentes, se forem da serie F, verifique se esta utilizar a procedura correcta: Primeiro - controle se o pino da maquina que vai entrar na ranhura da saliencia da objectiva esta posicionado o mais à direita possivel. Segundo - seleccione a abertura da objectiva na posiçao 5.6f. Terceiro - enfie o pino na ranhura da saliencia metalica da objectiva. Quarto -  rode a objectiva em sentido directo ate sentir o click. Quinto - feche o diafragma ate ao minimo possivel (f maximo). Sexto - abra o diafragma ate ao maximo possivel (f minimo). A mudança das lentes foi terminada, mas deve verificar se teve exito . Controle se na escala de 1.2 até 5.6 (maximas aberturas de diversas lentes) situado no corpo da maquina, o pequenissimo ponto vermelho assinala um valor precisamente igual ao da maxima abertura da lente, o que indicara que como previsto, a maquina recebeu a informaçao correta da lente utilizada e tudo chegou a bom fim; caso contrario devera retirar a objectiva e repetir toda esta sequencia. E se tiver qualquer pequeno sinal  dos anos vividos e sao tantos, nao veja tudo em negativo, lembre-se que muitas passaram por situaçoes extremas, como os pequenos traços desta maquina, que por anos acompanhou fielmente uma senhora Italiana nas suas longas viagens por Africa, locais impensaveis para fazer qualquer tipo de manutençao/reparaçao, e portanto escolhida inteligentemente pela sua altissima qualidade, nao se preocupando com o peso que ultrapassa um quilograma, em beneficio da sua resistencia, (acopolando  ainda uma luminosa lente 1:1/4 f 50mm ) e completamente mecanica e manual  nao dependente de baterias!!!. (excepto para o sistema de luminusidade)

1 - Porque é uma Nikon!!!

2 - Porque usa o mesmo tipo de lentes da Nikon F!!!

3 - Porque tem pré-visualização de profundidade de campo!!!

4 - Porque tem duplo medidor de luminusidade: Interno e Externo!!!

5 - Porque permite o bloco do espelho!!!

6 - Porque o obturador é extremamente bem contruido, metalico, mecanico e super robusto, praticamente indestrutivel!!!

7 - Porque é totalmente metalica (+1kg), mecanica e manual!!!

8 - Porque tem a mudança de velocidades junto à optica, selecionaveis de identico modo como a abertura e focagem, tudo com uma mao, e sem tirar os olhos do visor!!! 

9 - Porque prestou provas na guerra do Vietnam!!!

10 - Porque tem um desenho muito bem conseguido. (inspirou as FM/FE)!!!

11 - Porque é fortemente recomendada para fotografia 35mm!!!

Concluindo : Se pretende voltar ao velho sistema 35mm, pretende uma maquina economica, mecanica/manual (nao dependente de baterias), historica,  indestrutivel, belissima, com uma infinidade de lentes disponivel de excelente qualidade e a bom preço, confia na sua habilidade, dispensando todo o tipo de automatismos ou deseja aprender um pouco mais de fotografia e nao se importa de levar consigo mais de um quilograma de metal, encontra uma em bom estado e a bom preço, nao procure mais, esqueça tudo o resto e leve-a consigo, porque a Nikkormat FTN sera sua nova/velha maquina fotografica!!!
